Alison trained at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in her home-land of Australia before moving to the UK in 1987 as a member of The Fabulous Singlettes where they enjoyed three West-End seasons with their show Stop in the Name of Love. Other West-End credits include Les Miserables, Grease, The Hot Mikado, Prisoner Cell Block H: The Musical, The Pirates of Penzance, On The Town, Smokey Joe’s Café and Shoes.
Alison received an Olivier Award nominationfor Best Actress in a Musical for Jerry Springer The Opera at the Royal National Theatre.
Her song I Just Wanna F***ing Dance catapulted her to gay icon status around the world.
