Darren Mapes (Daz the Piano Man), from Sydney Australia has over 25 years experience as a musician, singer and entertainer. He is the musical director for Kelly O'Brien's The Dolly Tribute Show (Australian tours), he is the creator of the hilarious comedy/tribute The Carpenters From Kempsey which has toured throughout Australia and Asia.
Darren is a regular at Sydney's premier cabaret venue Claire's Kitchen in Darlinghurst. He was resident piano bar/entertainer at 5 Eliza Street in Newtown and is currently working alongside Deb Krizak at the high rollers piano bar - Sovereign Room at The Star Casino.
In the tradition pf the New York gay bath-houses (where Bette Midler and Barry Manilow started out) Darren has a residency on Sundays at 357 Sussex Street performing a wide and varied repertoire with everything from Elton John and Billy Joel, Queen, Showtunes and 70/80's sing-a-long favourites.
